WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce has invited six state and federal candidates to a forum on October 24th.
The guest lists include major-party candidates running for Senate, Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, and Wisconsin’s 85th State Assembly District.
Candidates will have the opportunity at this event to share their platform and inform the public on the issues important to them.
The UW Center for Civic Engagement on the UWSP at Wausau campus will host the event. Eric Giordano, Executive Director of WIPPS, will facilitate.
Five candidates have confirmed their attendance. Incumbent US Senator Tammy Baldwin has been invited, but not yet accepted:
US Senate:
- Senator Tammy Baldwin – Invited
- Eric Hovde – Confirmed
US Congressional District #7:
- Kyle Kilbourn – Confirmed
- Congressman Tom Tiffany – Confirmed
Wisconsin State Assembly District #85:
- Representative Pat Snyder – Confirmed
- Yee Leng Xiong – Confirmed
Doors will open at 5:00 PM, and the program begins at 5:30. The event is free and open to the public with no admission fee and no pre-registration required.
