Green Bay Packers
GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers are adding a tight end to their practice squad as one of their top tight ends continues to deal with injury.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers are signing John FitzPatrick to the practice squad as Luke Musgrave rehabs an ankle injury that suffered during the team’s Week 4 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Musgrave was active during the team’s Week Five win over the Los Angeles Rams but did not play any snaps and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, which signals that he may be inactive for Green Bay’s Week 6 home game against Arizona.
FitzPatrick was drafted by the Falcons in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft out of Georgia but did not see much time on the field before he was cut during August cutdowns. He had one catch for 12 yards during the 2022 season before he was placed on season-ending IR and played in nine games for Atlanta during the 2023 season, with most of his snaps coming as a run blocker.
