COACHELLA, CA (WSAU) – The armed man who attempted to enter former President Trump’s Coachella rally on Saturday is shutting down claims that he was hoping to harm Trump or any attendees.
According to the New York Post, the suspect has been identified as 49-year-old Vem Miller, who sat down with Fox News on Sunday to set the record straight about what happened outside of Trump’s large California rally. During the interview, Miller stated, “Yes, I’m 100% a Trump supporter,” and the former president is someone he “deeply admires.” However, he denied the Riverside County Sheriff’s claim that he is a “far-right” person.
Miller spoke about how he recently started a media company called America Happens Network and that he’s received death threats over some of the content the outlet has spoken about, so he carries guns for protection but is yet to fire any of them, saying, “I’ve literally never even shot a gun in my life. I don’t know anything about guns. I am beyond a novice.”
When asked about passports in his vehicle that authorities suspected to be fake, Miller denied the claim, saying, “None of those are fake.”
Miller was detained for possessing a firearm, but he was soon freed on a $5,000 bond.
