MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks are off to a slow start to begin the season, falling to 1-2 on Sunday after a 115-102 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, and their biggest star is calling for accountability.
While speaking to reporters following the loss, Giannis Antetokounmpo said the lack of effort is the team’s biggest issue, saying, “Right now, we don’t have an identity. How are we going to win the game? Are we going to defend for 48 minutes? Are we going to move the ball for 48 minutes? Are we going to attack? We’ve got to find an identity. We don’t have that right now.”
Milwaukee turned the ball over 18 times against the Nets, leading to 21 Brooklyn points, and shot just 30.3% from three-point range on Sunday, while the Nets shot 36.6% from behind the arc.
While it’s still early in the season, it remains to be seen what the Bucks will look like once they’re at full strength as Khris Middleton continues to rehab from off-season ankle surgery and new additions like Gary Trent Jr. and Taurean Prince are still getting acclimated to Milwaukee’s system.
