GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers got some good news on the injury front, as their top cornerback could play this weekend in a key matchup against the Lions.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, an MRI was conducted on Jaire Alexander’s right knee on Monday that showed no significant concerns, and no decision on his availability for Sunday will be made until the end of the week based on the level of soreness he experiences over the coming days.
Against the Jaguars, Alexander allowed just one catch for two yards and would be essential against a red-hot Lions offense that has scored 40+ points in three of their last four games and quarterback Jared Goff, who has scored 13 touchdowns so far this season, which ranks him 8th in the league. The Lions will be without star deep-threat receiver Jameson Williams on Sunday, who is currently serving a two-game suspension due to performance-enhancing substance use.
