CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (WSAU) — The teenager accused of killing Lily Peters will return to court on December 16th to enter a plea.
The boy, still identified as C.P.B. in court documents, is accused of intentional homicide and sexual assault for allegedly beating and assaulting Peters as he was escorting her back to her parent’s house following a visit with her aunt.
He told investigators he beat her with a stick and punched her numerous times, then left her body in the area and returned home. When he learned that she had been reported missing, officers say he returned to the area to try to hide her body better.

C.P.B. recently lost an appeal to have the case moved to juvenile court. Records show that the case was returned to Chippewa County Circuit Court five days ago, meaning his full name will eventually be released.
The boy faces a mandatory life sentence for the homicide charges alone. His defense team had argued that moving the case to juvenile court would allow him to get the treatment he needs while awaiting trial, though the state successfully argued that doing so would undermine the severity of the alleged crime. C.P.B.’s defense had the option to appeal to the state Supreme Court, though it does not appear they will do so.
