STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Seven weeks after he held a rally in Wausau, Minnesota Governor and Vice Presidental nominee Tim Walz made another visit to Central Wisconsin.
Walz and Incumbent US Senator Tammy Baldwin held a Get Out The Vote rally on the UWSP campus on Monday, one day before the polls open nationwide. Walz used the time to underscore the importance of Tuesday’s election.
“[You all get the chance] in the next 24 hours to shape not just the next four years, but future generations to come. And not just for Wisconsin, but globally. That’s what we have in front of us right now,” said Walz.
Baldwin warmed up the crowd along with a UWSP student and Stevens Point Mayor Mike Wiza.

Walz previously visited Central Wisconsin in mid-September, stopping at the Just Right bakery in downtown Wausau before rallying supporters at the Whitewater Music Hall.
The visit was part of Walz’s busy day across the Badger state. He started the day in La Crosse and was also scheduled for an event in Milwaukee in the evening. He’ll spend Tuesday in Pennsylvania before joining Presidental nominee Kamala Harris for a results watch party at Howard University in Washington, DC.
