MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers will be losing another one of their young backup quarterbacks as the offense continues to see changes.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, redshirt freshman quarterback Cole LaCrue will enter the transfer portal after not taking a snap in either 2023 or 2024.
This season, LaCrue, a former three-star prospect from Broomfield, Colorado, was Wisconsin’s third-string quarterback, behind true freshman Mabrey Mettauer and Braedyn Locke. After throwing for 6,000 yards and scoring 57 touchdowns in three varsity seasons at Broomfield High School, LaCrue was named the Colorado 4A Player of the Year in 2022 and chose the Badgers over Central Michigan, South Dakota, Northern Colorado, and Tulane.
