ALBAN, Wis. — (WAOW-WSAU) The Portage County Sheriff’s Office disclosed in a press release that a 68-year-old woman has died as a result of a two-vehicle accident in the Town of Alban in Portage County.
According to their release, on Saturday afternoon, a sedan had been traveling southbound on Portage County I, and failed to yield from the stop sign before crossing State Highway 66 toward Saint Adalberts Road. The sedan pulled directly into the path of a westbound SUV, resulting in the collision of the two vehicles, and blocking parts of both lanes on the State Highway.
The driver of the sedan was a 68-year-old woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV had two occupants: the driver, a 74-year-old man, and a 77-year-old woman. Both were taken to Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash is undergoing investigation.
