CAMERON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A memorial paying tribute to the memory of a fallen Cameron police officer is now complete.
In a Facebook post, the Village of Cameron Police Department announced the completion and installation of Hunter Scheel’s memorial at the village hall.
Scheel and Chetek police officer Emily Breidenbach were killed in the line of duty on April 8, 2023.
Cameron police said the memorial will be formally unveiled on Wednesday, December 4 at 11am. Their social media post went on to say they extend their sincerest appreciation to everyone who contributed to the creation of this lasting tribute.
They also said, “Officer Hunter Scheel’s unwavering commitment and ultimate sacrifice to the Village of Cameron will be forever remembered and honored.”
The Officer Emily Breidenbach Memorial outside the Chetek Police Department was unveiled in April 2024, one year after her death.
