MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says cucumbers sold in the Badger State are linked to a nationwide salmonella outbreak.
The vegetables are sold by SunFed Produce, LLC (SunFed) and were shipped to 26 states, including Wisconsin, between October 12 and November 26. Individual cucumbers may have a sticker that says “SunFed Mexico.”
The cucumbers have now been recalled.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says 68 people in 19 states have become infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella. That includes three Wisconsinites.
Anyone who believes they may have eaten the recalled cucumbers should contact their local health department. More information on the recall can be found on the Food and Drug Administration Website by clicking here.
