MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin football team lost one defensive back to the transfer portal on Monday but within a few minutes gained another DB on the recruitment trail.
Redshirt freshman Jonas Duclona declared himself for the transfer portal which opens Dec 9th. He will have three years of eligibility remaining. He played in the first four games this season but didn’t make an appearance after that.
The Badgers had already known they were also losing Amare Snowden who is moving on as well.
Meanwhile, a cornerback from North Carolina will be heading to Madison. Cairo Skenes from Providence Day High School in Charlotte announced his commitment to Wisconsin.
Skenes is rated as a three-star prospect by ESPN. He had received a number of offers including from Michigan State and Clemson.
Skenes is the 25th member of the 2025 class of recruits. The early signing period ends on Friday.
