WASHINGTON D.C. (WSAU) – A new report is providing details about what the Biden Administration’s next move could be after granting the president’s son a sweeping pardon earlier this week.
According to Politico, senior aides within the president’s administration have begun floating other preemptive pardons for lawmakers like California Senator-elect Adam Schiff, former Idaho GOP Congresswoman Liz Cheney, and Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Schiff told the outlet that he believes pardoning him for crimes he’s not yet been charged with “would seem defensive and unnecessary,” while further stating that he would tell the “president not to do that.” Neither Cheney nor Fauci has commented on the report at this time.
Politico states that these discussions began after President-elect Trump nominated former Obama official and Biden Administration critic Kash Patel to become the new FBI Director. Patel has stated that if confirmed for the position, he would “shut down’ the bureau’s D.C. headquarters and reopen it as a “deep state” museum.
