MADISON, WI (WSAU) – A former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback has decided to take his talents to the NFL in 2025.
According to a post on his X account, Graham Mertz, who has spent the last two seasons at the University of Florida, has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft after going 2-3 with the Gators in 2024 before he suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Mertz went 19-13 as the program’s starting quarterback after he spent two seasons in Madison throwing 38 touchdown passes and 26 interceptions.
As it currently stands, Mertz is not projected to be drafted during this spring’s draft despite this year’s quarterback class being considered weaker than past years by scouts at Pro Football Focus and other outlets, with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward ranked as the top quarterback prospects this year.
