MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for his role in a drug distribution ring.
Troy Olsen will serve 45 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.
Olsen is one of several people to face charges as part of the ring, which operated in the Wausau area for years. Investigators began their work in the winter of 2022, intercepting packages and making controlled purchases. They ultimately determined that the ring was “distributing kilograms quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine.”
The 50-year-old was found to be one of the main distributors. He later admitted to picking up packages every few days and repackaging the contents for sale.
Olsen’s sentencing comes one week after another man, Quo Vadis Lewis, was sentenced in connection with the same ring.
