WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A former Wausau resident will face trial for a felony count of child sexual assault.
Chue Yang, who now lives in Minneapolis, was scheduled for a three-day trial from October 27th through 29th.
Charges date back to 2008 when Yang was in a relationship with the child’s mother. Investigators say he forced the child to have sex with him on multiple occasions.
He is free on a $50,000 cash bond, which was posted on his behalf one year ago. Terms of the bond include no unsupervised contact with minor females and absolutely no contact with the victim or their family. He has also surrendered his passport and has submitted to pretrial monitoring.
The 48-year-old returns to court on April 8th for a pretrial conference. He faces up to 60 years in prison if found guilty at trial.
