MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A Wisconsin Rapids man will serve nine years in federal prison after pleading guilty to federal drug and firearms charges.
Bradly Rosenthal entered the plea on Wednesday to possessing and distributing methamphetamine and possessing two loaded firearms as a convicted felon. Charges stem from a March 2024 incident in which police were tipped off to potential drug-related activity at a Wisconsin Rapids car wash.
When officers responded a K9 alerted them to the presence of drugs in Rosenthal’s vehicle. A search turned up 266 grams of methamphetamine, two loaded firearms, a Taser, $2,000, and drug distribution paraphernalia.
Rosenthal was not allowed to have a gun due to prior felony convictions. The 42-year-old was also caught selling drugs to an undercover informant three times in February 2024.
US District Judge William Conley expressed concern at Rosenthal’s “repeated serious crimes,” during sentencing. Those include prior drug trafficking and firearms offenses.
