MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Residents are encouraged to nominate their favorite restaurant burger for the 2025 “Wisconsin’s Best Burger” contest.
The contest, promoted by the Wisconsin Beef Council, is open to any local Wisconsin restaurant. Eligible burgers must be part of the establishment’s regular menu and must contain 100% beef, served on a bun or other bread product such as a tortilla or biscuits.
Entries will be accepted through March 21st at the Beef Council Website. The Beef Council will then name eight finalists.
A secret panel of judges will visit all eight establishments to try the nominated burgers. Each one will be judged on taste and appearance, accounting for 80% of the burger’s score. appropriate ‘doneness’ will account for 10%, with the final 10% left to the judge’s discretion as “overall.”
Local restaurants are encouraged to promote the contest through signage and table tents.
Last year’s winner was Pickle’s Bar and Grill in Hazelhurst. They will be ineligible for this year’s contest, as restaurants can only win the award once.
