MADISON, Wis. (WAOW-WSAU) — An Illinois man will spend more than a decade behind bars for supplying a Marathon County drug trafficking organization.
In a release, the U.S. Department of Justice says 43-year-old Edwin Lewis of Park Forest was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison.
Charges include conspiring to possess and distribute cocaine and 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, and for possessing with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.
The prison term will be followed by 5 years of supervised release. Lewis pleaded guilty in December 2024.
At sentencing, the judge said Lewis was a key member of this large drug trafficking operation. The judge also noted Lewis had already served a federal prison sentence for cocaine trafficking.
Eight others were also charged in connection with the drug trafficking organization.
