MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Milwaukee got a quartet of 20-point performances in a 126-106 victory over the LA Lakers in a matchup of playoff contenders on Thursday.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 24 points and 12 rebounds. He also recorded nine assists, just missing a triple-double.
Brook Lopez added 23 points. Damian Lillard and Kevin Porter Jr each dropped 22.
Jericho Simms contributed 11 rebounds and four points off the bench. Gary Trent Jr added 16 points.
Milwaukee shot 48% from the field, including 42.5% from three-point range. Los Angeles went 44% from the field and 38% from long range.
Luka Doncic led all scorers with 45 points. Austin Reaves scored 28, and Dalton Knecht added 10 off the bench. No other Laker scored more than 6 in the loss.
The Bucks improved to 37-28 on the season and snapped a three-game losing streak, temporarily moving into second place in the Central Division. They’ll take on the Indiana Pacers on Saturday and are scheduled to make a return visit to the Lakers next week as part of a five-game West Coast road trip. This trip will coincide with Fiserv Forum hosting first—and second-round games in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball tournament.
