EAU CLAIRE, WI (WSAU) – Minnesota governor and former vice presidential candidate Tim Walz will be returning to Wisconsin for the first time since the fall election to support liberal Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford.
According to Civic Media’s Dan Shafer, Walz will join the Wisconsin Democratic Party for a town hall event in Eau Claire on Tuesday in what’s described as a “People vs Musk” get-out-the-vote initiative for Crawford’s campaign.
This would be the second out-of-state Democrat politician to visit Wisconsin to campaign for Crawford, following Sen. Bernie Sanders’ visit earlier this month as part of his “take on the oligarchy” tour, which he considers to represent Musk’s work with DOGE. Sanders’ rally in Kenosha sparked outrage online when transgender singer Laura Grace opened the event and sang a song called “Your God (God’s D–k),” which mocked Christianity and contained highly graphic lyrics that many thought unsuitable for an event open to and attended by children.
Filings show Musk’s PAC has spent over $1 million to help former Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel defeat Crawford though he is far from the only out-of-state billionaire to contribute to the race, as Crawford’s campaign has accepted millions in donations from several high-level out-of-state Democratic donors such as George Soros, Reid Hoffman, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and Gloria Page.
