MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers will begin the 2025 season without one of their top pitchers after he suffered an injury over the weekend.
According to MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy, Tobias Myers received an MRI scan for his recently suffered oblique injury, which came back with encouraging results but will still require him to start the season on the 15-day injured list.
Manager Pat Murphy spoke about the scan, saying, “I think it’s a little better news than we thought,” as he expects Myers to possibly be able to return by the end of April.
The Brewers rotation has been decimated by injuries in recent weeks as Aaron Ashby, D.L. Hall, Brandon Woodruff, and Robert Gasser are all currently on the IL, and McCalvy notes that prospect Logan Henderson appears to be the team’s early favorite to be the fifth starter.
Before suffering the injury, Myers had a 3-0 record with a 3.38 ERA during spring training.
