MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers got a splendid start from Nestor Cortes and the bullpen was stellar again in a 1-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday night at American Family Field.
Cortes bounced back from his disastrous first start to toss six shutout innings giving up just one hit with six Ks and two walks. Elvis Peguero, Bryse Hudson and Joel Payamps put up three scoreless innings allowing just one hit and one walk between them.
The Reds were shutout for the 3rd straight game.
Sal Frelick had two hits and the game’s only RBi when he drove in Jackson Chourio in the 4th inning.
The Brewers improve to 3-4 and will host the Reds again tonight. Pre game show at 6:35 on WSAU.
