ADAMS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A tragic incident unfolded on July 5, 2025, when a five-week-old infant was found unresponsive at a residence in Adams. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call, leading to a swift response by the City of Adams Police Department and LifeStar Ambulance Service.
The infant was first taken to Gunderson Moundview Hospital and later transferred to UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison. Despite medical efforts, the child passed away on July 9, 2025.
The child’s identity and the circumstances leading to the death have not been made public.
Following the infant’s death, the City of Adams Police Department requested the Adams County Sheriff’s Office to lead the investigation. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a formal investigation is standard procedure in such cases in Adams County.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
