GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers have released images of their new throwback uniforms that will be worn for one home game this season.
According to a press release from he team, the jersey features navy blue jerseys with dark gold numbers and dark gold stripes, tan pants, and navy socks. The helmet design is inspired by football’s first leather helmets, featuring realistic distressing and hand-decorated leather strap and stitching effects, with a navy face mask completing the look.
The helmet is also hand-painted, a first for any NFL team.
The set mimics what the Packers wore in 1923, their first year of public ownership. Rumours of the look have swirled online since early summer. The team officially revealed it during an event at

Merchendise inspired by the 1923 Classic Collection is now available for fans to purchase in the Packers Pro Shop and includes the 1923 Classic Jersey along with a new line of assorted apparel including t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, caps and knit hats and a variety of novelty items such as pennants, pins, decals, can coolers, coffee mugs, tumblers, pints and shot glasses.
