WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau Woodchucks bats continued to boom on Thursday night as they rolled over the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 17-4 at Athletic Park.
The Rafters took a 2-0 lead in the firrst inning and led 4-2 in the 6th when the Chucks erupted for 15 unanswered runs over the last three innings.
Noah Malone homered and drove in four runs. Dylan Schlotterback also drove in four runs and Jake Berkland added three RBIs.
Richie Lacien picked up the win with six innings of work.
The Woodchucks have won six in a row and 14 in a row at home. They play at Wisconsin Rapids tonight.
Meanwhile, the Wausau Ignite softball team split a DH at La Crosse. They fell in the opener 8-5 and won the nightcap 12-1.
Wausau had a 5-1 lead in game one but couldnt hold it. In game two Alysa Lowe was 3-4 with a homer, two doubles and two RBIs. Lisa Sullivan was 4-4 and scored three runs. Alicia Flores allowed two runs over six innings to pick up the win.
The Ignite return to Athletic Park tonight for a DH with LaCrosse at 5pm.
