Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers fell behind 3-0 in the first inning before rallying for an 8-4 win over the Chicago Cubs in game one of a three game series Monday night at American Family Field.
Jacob Misiorowski started and gave up the three runs (2 earned) in four innings of work with seven Ks and two walks. The Brewers used seven relief pitchers in the game with Nick Mears picking up the win with a scoreless inning and Trevor Megill locking down his 24th save of the season.
Christian Yelich was 2-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Andrew Vaughn and Sal Frelick also homered. Issac Collins drove in two runs and Brice Turang one.
The Brewers, now 63-43 and one game up on the Cubs in the Central Division standings, will host Chicago again tonight. Pre game show at 6:05 on WSAU.
