TOWN OF MERRILL, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A 52-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested for his third OWI over the weekend.
It happened Saturday when the Sheriff’s office got a call about a vehicle traveling the wrong way on US Highway 51 near Lincoln Drive in the Town of Merrill.
Officers pulled over the man, who they said was exhibiting signs of impairment. When they asked him to do sobriety tests, he was unable to perform them and told deputies he was too drunk.
The driver was arrested and charged with his 3rd OWI, as well as operating while revoked, tampering with an ignition interlock device, and driving the wrong way on a divided highway. His name has not been released.
