MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-2 in the regular season finale on Sunday. It was their 97th win of the year setting a new franchise record
The Brewers had already secured the division title and the top seed in the National League earlier. They finsihed the regular season at 97-55.
The Brewers used seven pitchers in the game with both DL Hall and Trevor Megill returning from the IL. Megill picked up the win in relief. Freddy Peralta started and went two innings in a tune-up for the playoffs.
Danny Jansen homered for the second straight game. He had two RBIs. Brice Turang and Andrew Vaughn also had RBIs.
The Brewers await the winner of the wild card series between Chicago and San Diego. The winner of that best of three will play in Milwaukee on Saturday in the beginning of the NL Division Series.
