Eric Blum
STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The man suspected of setting multiple fires at a Stevens Point rental home occupied by members of a UWSP fraternity had his December trial dates adjourned on Monday.
Court records show Eric Blum will now face trial for felony arson and recklessly endangering safety from April 28th through May 1st, 2026.
The 23-year-old is accused of starting multiple fires in the building while others were still inside, causing significant damage. Roommates said he was recently kicked out of the fraternity and stopped paying rent for the house, leaving others to pick up his share.
The situation left members of the fraternity scrambling to find housing just ahead of finals week at UWSP.
A motion hearing is scheduled for November 10th. Blum is being held on a $150,000 bond with several conditions, including a full no-contact order with six victims. He faces more than 50 years in prison if found guilty.
