Ed Deyo
STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — An Amherst man accused of harboring a felon, leading to a two-day police standoff in July 2024, is on trial in Stevens Point.
Ed Deyo is accused of hiding a man accused of shooting an officer in Sauk County. Investigators say the 62-year-old picked up the suspect at a gas station in Coloma and brought him to his house.
Officers used digital evidence, including an IP address associated with his social media accounts, to Deyo’s home. Officers moved in with tactical teams, and the standoff ensued. The suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Deyo faces a felony count for harboring a felon, which could land him in prison for up to ten years. The trial is scheduled to run through Friday.
