TOWN OF SCOTT, WI (WSAU) — A 19-year-old Merrill man may lose his driver’s license after Sheriff’s Deputies clocked him going more than twice the posted speed limit on a rural road last week.
Officers say the unidentified man was clocked at 120 MPH on County Highway K near the County Highway FF intersection in the Town of Scott, where the posted speed limit is 55 MPH.
The driver said he was speeding because he was late for a date at his girlfriend’s house.
He was cited for traveling 65 MPH over the limit, endangering safety, and unreasonable and impudent speed. If convicted on the speeding count, he will lose his license.
