MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Reports indicate Milwaukee Bucks F Giannis Antetokounmpo will be out for two to four weeks after suffering a calf strain in the team’s 113-109 win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.
The non-contact injury occurred in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game and came hours after it was reported that Antetokounmpo and his agent are “mulling his future with the Bucks,” according to ESPN insider Shams Charania.
Since those reports, speculation has run wild with some predicting Antetokounmpo will request a trade. The team reportedly discussed a deal with the New York Knicks last offseason but couldn’t come to an agreement. Head Coach Doc Rivers brushed off the rumors before Wednesday’s game, saying the star “loves Milwaukee and the Bucks.”
It’s the second time this year that the star has been sidelined with an injury. Milwaukee has floundered without him, going 1-5 without his services.
The Bucks currently sit at 10-13 and hold the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference, the last Play-in Tournament slot.
