WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Marathon County will partially open up the Mountain Bay Trail for snowmobiles beginning on Saturday , December 13th at 8am, but conditions are listed as early season, so be careful when out.
The trail will be open from CTH J, going east into Shawano County with access to The Store gas station being allowed, but with all cross-trails being posted as close.
Despite the partial opening of Mountain Bay Trail, all of the other trails in Marathon County will remain closed until further notice. The Marathon County Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department reminds riders to stay on open trails.
Off-Trail riding or riding on closed trails is trespassing and can result in the loss of trails and/or citations. Another reminder to respect the landowners and the clubs who maintain our trail systems.
