SCHOFIELD, WI (WSAU) – A third person has been arrested in an animal neglect case that’s linked to a dog training business in Schofield.
Heather Zynda, 50, was arrested last Friday and was booked into the Marathon County Jail. She’ll appear in court this week, accused of animal mistreatment and not providing sufficient space and food for animals. Zynda is the Operations Director at Crossroads K-9 Rescue in Kronenwetter.
The neglected dogs were with Central Wisconsin K-9 of Schofield. Sean Dumais and Kalib Suchomski were arrested earlier this fall on multiple animal abuse and neglect charges. Both are still being held in the Marathon County Jail.
Angel Dog Alliance, an animal rescue group for Illinois, notified Mountain Bay police of suspected abuse. Zynda and Dumais share a residence in Kronenwetter. Police report that dozens of dogs were found in unsafe and unsanitary conditions at Central Wisconsin K-9, including a lack of food and water and kennels covered in feces and urine.
