Jordan Coyle
STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A $1 million bond has been set for a Portage County man accused of child sex crimes in connection with a 2025 AMBER Alert.
Jordan Coyle is accused of first-degree child sexual assault, according to a news release from Portage County District Attorney Cass Cousins. Investigators say DNA evidence taken from the victim back in September suggests the 34-year-old had recent sexual contact with her.
The accusations come after Coyle, 34, was found to be living with the girl and her mother, a violation of the terms of his probation stemming from an earlier conviction. Officers issued an arrest warrant for him in early September, and he was taken into custody on the 13th. But not before he took the victim on September 11th, sparking the AMBER Alert.
They were found in a wooded area of Poratege County, and Coyle was arrested without incident.
The girl’s mother, Chelsea Lehmann, is also facing charges for harboring a felon and encouraging a violation of supervision in connection with the case.
Conditions of Coyle’s bond included a full no contact order against the victim. His next court apperance is scheduled for February 16th.
Coyle faces a mandatory life sentence if found guilty due to his status as a repeat offender.
