GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — One Green Bay Packer could be a winner during Super Bowl Week, even though the team won’t be playing in the biggest game of the year.
Micah Parsons is one of five finalists for the Associated Press’ NFL Defensive Player of the Year award, which is one of eight awards that will be handed out during the NFL Honors show on Thursday, February 5th.
Parsons had a monster year for the Packers before tearing his ACL during a Week 15 showdown with the Broncos. He finished the season with nearly 41 tackles (19 solo), 12.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Others nominated for the DPOY honor include Detroit Lions DE Aiden Hutchinson, Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett, Denver Broncos LB Nik Bonitto, and Houston Texans DE Will Anderson Jr.
Parsons was acquired via a trade with Dallas in August that sent Kenny Clark to the Cowboys. Green Bay also gave up its first-round draft picks in 2026 and 2027. Parsons immediately signed a four-year contract extension with the Packers.
