Milwaukee Bucks
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Bucks will once again be without the Greek Freak as trade rumours continue to swirl. Oh, and they also lost the game on Friday to Denver, 102-100.
Giannis Antetokounmpo went down in the first half with a calf injury, similar to the ailment that cost him eight games early in the season. He still managed to put in a 32-minute shift, scoring 22 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. But never appeared comfortable on the floor.
Ryan Rollins added 21 points. Myles Turner dropped 17, Kyle Kuzma and Bobby Portis each scored 11.
Denver built a 23-point lead in the second half only to see Milwaukee come all the way back. The game got as close as 101-100, but Milwaukee never regained the lead.
The Bucks are now 18-26 on the season and sit in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, just below the postseason cut line. They’ll host Dallas on Sunday at Fiserv Forum.
As for Antetokounmpo, he is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a calf strain. Earlier this week, the star said he believes that the team is playing selfishly and said a “lack of chemistry” has led to their lackluster performance. NBA insiders, including ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Shams Charania, have noted that he may be traded before the league’s February 5th trade deadline.
