Wisconsin Badgers
MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The cold-shooting Wisconsin mens basketball team battled back from an 18 point halftime deficit and beat the Minnesota Gophers 67-63 on Wednesday night at the Kohl Center.
The Badgers scored just 17 points in the first half but outscored the Gophers 50-28 in the second half. The rally started with a 15-2 run to begin the second half. Wisconsin shot just 18% from the field in the first half but finished the game at 40%.
The Badgers were still down by one with a minute left but John Blackwell scored seven points in the final minute to secure the victory.
Blackwell finished with 23 points and seven rebounds. Nick Boyd had 21 points, 19 in the second half.
The Badgers, now 15-6, 7-3 in the Big Ten, will host Ohio State on Saturday afternoon.
