Wisconsin Badagers
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WSAU) — The Badger men’s hockey team blew a 1-0 lead, falling to rival Minnesota 4-1 in Big Ten play on Friday.
Tyson Dyck scored a power play goal midway through the first period, though the Gophers would level the score a few minutes later. Minnesota then took a 3-1 lead after two.
Daniel Hauser made 21 saves in the net.
Wisconsin now holds a 2-1 lead in the season series between the clubs after sweeping Minnesota at home in the first Big Ten Conference series of the season. The Gophers will go for the tie this evening. There will be no radio coverage on WSAU due to Badger men’s basketball.
The Wisconsin women’s hockey team is also in Minneapolis for a weekend series with the Gophers, and it was Goldy taking game one 3-2. Lacey Eden and Finley McCarthy provided the goals for the Badgers. Rhyah Stewart made 24 saves in the loss.
The same two teams will play again this afternoon.
