Milwaukee Bucks
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly informed the 29 other NBA clubs that they have shut down trade offers for Forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, but the team is still dealing ahead of this afternoon’s trade deadline.
The All-Star has been the subject of much speculation over the last two weeks after reportedly telling management that he wanted to be moved to a playoff contender. Since then, the Bucks have fielded offers from multiple clubs, including Minnesota, Miami, and Golden State.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst has reported that Giannis may have played his last game for Milwaukee, as the team could shut him down for the remainder of the season after he suffered two calf injuries in the first 41 games. There is also the possibility that he could be traded in the off-season if management wants to invest in younger talent.
Milwaukee did swing one deal before the deadline, acquiring Nick Richards and Nigel Hayes-Davis from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Cole Anthony and Amir Coffey. Richards is in his 7th year in the league and is currently averaging 3.2 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game. Hayes-Davis, who played college basketball for the Wisconsin Badgers, has played for four different clubs. He’s currently averaging less than 1.5 points and rebounds per game.
