SANTA, CLARA, CA (WSAU) –The Seattle Seahawks are the Super Bowl champs after a 29-13 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday at Levis Stadium.
The Seahawks held the Pats scoreless through three quarters as they built a 19-0 lead on four Jason Myers field goals and a touchdown pass from Sam Darnold to AJ Barner.
The Patriots broke through with two 4th quarter TDs but the Seattle defense, which sacked NE QB Drake Maye six times, added another field goal and a pick-six from Uchenna Nwosu to ice the win.
Seahawk running back Kenneth Walker Jr earned the MVP honors with 135 yards on 27 carries and 26 receiving yards to become the first running back to win the hnor since Terrell Davis in 1997. His 135 yards were the most by a running back in a Super Bowl since Davis.
