MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) — The former Mayor of Mosinee has died, roughly one month after he resigned the position.
According to an obituary published by the Beste Funeral Home, Pete Nievinski died on Friday, March 13th.
Nievinski resigned as Mayor in mid-February, citing health concerns that would keep him from giving the position “the attention it needs and deserves.”
Nievinski had also served as an Alder for the city and worked for Marathon County in the Finance Department until his retirement in 2019. According to his obituary, he was also a long-time official for high school football, baseball, and softball.
He will be remembered during a Mass of Christian Burial on April 15th at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee. In place of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Humane Society of Marathon County in Pete’s name.
