MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers have announced that Jacob Misiorowski will be the Opening Day starter.
A former top prospect in Milwaukee’s system, the Miz made his Major League debut in June 2025, going 5-3 with an ERA of 4.36 in 66 innings.
He was named to the National League All-Star team after just five starts, throwing one scoreless inning and allowing one hit in the game.
Milwaukee will host the Chicago White Sox to open the season on March 26th. The Southsiders have already announced they will start Shane Smith, a former Brewers prospect. The right-hander was selected by the White Sox in the 2024 Rule 5 Draft, which allows teams to select players that aren’t on another club’s Major League roster.
Thursday’s game begins at 1:10 PM. Pregame coverage on WSAU will begin at 12:35 PM.
