Adam Borchardt
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 37-year-old Antigo man has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash that killed two people last September in the Town of Wausau.
Adam H. Borchardt was taken into custody on Tuesday, according to WAOW TV, and is being held in the Marathon County Jail on two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. The charges stem from a head-on collision on State Highway 52 near Forest Lawn Road that killed Shirley L. Erickson and Arlen Erickson.
The crash happened around 10:00 PM on Sept. 26, when the Marathon County Emergency 911 Dispatch Center received a report of the collision. Two people died at the scene.
One person sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Another person was treated at the scene for less significant injuries.
State Highway 52 was closed for about six hours while investigators processed the scene and emergency crews cleared the roadway.
