BOSTON, MA (WSAU) – The Brewers broke a 5-5 tie in the 8th inning on a Garrett Mitchell single to beat the Red Sox on Monday night. The hit brought in the go-ahead run, and a second baserunner scored on a throwing error.
The Red Sox couldn’t hold an early 3-0 lead, and have lost 8 of their last 8 ganes,
Christian Yelich had three hits and a RBI, as his batting average climbed above .400,
Aaron Ashby (3-0) was the winning pitcher, in relief of Brandon Woodruff, who allowed 5 runs, 3 earned, while working into the 6th inning.
The Brewers, now 8-2 for the season, send Jacob Misiorowski to the mound on Tuesday. Game coverage begins at 5:10pm CT on WSAU.
