STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The Stevens Point Fire Department will host a food truck inspection event later this month.
Operators are invited to bring their mobile restaurants to the city parking lot at Crosby Avenue and First Street on April 21st from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Inspectors will look at all elements of the trucks, including:
LP/propane systems and connections
Fire suppression and hood systems
Portable fire extinguishers
General fire code compliance and operational safety
Officials said the inspections will help prevent delays, violations, or interruptions during the peak operating season.
The event is free and satisfies the city’s required fire and life safety inspection for trucks. Operators will still need to secure all other state and local permits before setting up shop in the city, including a food peddler permit.
