MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers are leaning into their status as Wisconsin’s MLB club with their latest City Connect uniforms from Nike.
The new uniforms feature “Wisco” on the chest along with several nods to Wisconsin’s outdoor culture. Including the blue base, sunset gradient trim, and a wheat and barley braid on the shoulders.
The sleeve patch features a reimagined barrelman logo over the Wisconsin outline. While the typeset pays homage to the American Association Milwaukee Brewers franchise, a minor-league club from the early 20th century. The state motto, “Forward,” is stitched inside the collar.
“Even though the official branding is City Connect, we call it ‘State Connect’ internally,” said Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger in a press release.
Thursday’s announcement officially retires the light blue “Brew Crew” City Connect uniform, though a popular element of that set is carried over into the new look. The grill logo has been reworked as a fishing bobber resting on a lake.
The new City Connect jerseys and shirts went on sale at the team store at American Family Field on Thursday. The jerseys will get their first on-field action this weekend when the Brewers host the Washington Nationals for three games starting Friday.
