Heather Zynda
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Kronenwetter woman facing multiple counts of animal abuse will not have a plea and sentencing hearing today as previously scheduled.
Heather Zynda was due in court today to enter a plea for a handful of counts, including felony mistreatment of animals- causing death and misdemeanor counts of intentional mistreatment of animals. Though court records show that the hearing was wiped from the calendar on Monday to allow for “more invesetigation.”
The 50-year-old was the owner of Crossroads K9 in Kronenwetter, which was tied to a raid last summer at Central Wisconsin K9 in Schofield that led to charges against two other people, including Zynda’s partner Sean Dumais.
Officers found multiple dogs living in unsanitary conditions at the Schofield facility, leading to dozens of charges against Dumais. Further investigation revealed similar conditions at Crossroads K9.
Zynda is free on a $5,000 signature bond and is due back in court on June 18th. Dumais will be back in court on Wednesday.
