Dylan Hanson
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man charged with possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop last July has been sentenced to prison time as part of a plea deal covering multiple open cases.
Dylan Hanson will serve six years in prison and five years on extended supervision as part of an 11-year sentence handed down on Tuesday. The 32-year-old was pulled over for an unspecified violation on July 2nd, and during the stop, a K9 officer alerted his handler to possible drugs in the vehicle.
A search turned up more than 300 grams of meth stashed in the vehicle.
Hanson was freed on a $750 cash bond. As the case was in progress, he skipped at least three scheduled court dates in July and September. Officials were unable to reach him at his Wausau address, prompting a bench warrant that was quashed on December 9th when he returned to court. A judge then ordered him held on a $5,000 cash bond.

Terms of his sentence also include absolute sobriety and the completion of all treatment and counseling. He will also pay court costs, minus the previously forfeited $750 bond.
Charges that were dismissed but read into the record included possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer, possession of meth, and felony forgery. He had been facing up to 40 years in prison, plus the possibility of additional time due to his status as a repeat offender.
